citizenM and Triple win two golden Dutch Interactive Awards

Together with citizenM, we’ve won two golden Dutch Interactive Awards! The DIA jury has declared the citizenM digital transformation and the mobile app as the best ‘brand’ and best ‘service’ project of The Netherlands between the period of 2020 and 2021. 

The Dutch Interactive Awards are the most prestigious digital awards of The Netherlands and honors the best interactive projects of the year. The DIA presents a gold and silver award within 16 categories to the most prominent agencies and clients.

The jury was blown away by the partnership and project of Triple and citizenM. Besides, citizenM has received praise for the daring approach during the Covid-19 crisis and the quick adaption of the contactless hotel experience, setting the bar for the whole hospitality industry.

The jury describes this as a very rich case and is therefore happy to reward it with gold. Daring has been shown to invest countercyclically and to pay attention to digitization in these times. The solution is digitally strong and data-centric. Despite a very difficult time for hospitality, good results have been presented.

The jury will award a prize for lifetime achievement. This golden case sets the standard in the hotel industry and is therefore at a lonely height. Can't touch this. All previous steps in the development process were one step higher and it is great that something like this becomes and remains a strategy. The application is highly developed for the entire customer journey from A to Z, inside and outside the hotel, and the performance remains good.

A frictionless journey across all digital touchpoints

In 2018 Triple and citizenM started working together to reinvent their customer journey and better live up to the brand mission. The goal of the digital transformation was to make citizenM’s human, personal and playful brand DNA palpable throughout the entire travel experience. 

The result is a  new digital ecosystem, centered around the mobile app, which allows guests to take control from booking, to checking in, opening room doors, controlling lights, blinds, and temperature, and ordering food. This “contactless” journey has never been more relevant than today.

The ‘contextual card’ is prominently positioned on the dashboard and offers the most relevant next action based on where guests are in the hotel journey. Wasting less time on clicking around the menu means more time for real-life conversations with guests and the citizenM ambassadors. 

The journey can be picked up seamlessly on other digital touchpoints. An in-room tablet features room controls that pick up where you left things on your phone, all in the same familiar design.

Digital partnership 

We’ve been working together with the tech-savvy hotel chain for several years. The first year of the collaboration focussed on the field of technical operations and hosting of most of the citizenM platforms. When Triple became the official digital partner, concepting, design, technical architecture, development and application management were added to collaboration.
