Good news! Our Beyond Care project got approval from the medical ethical commission to start a treatment trial with patients.

Many patients who have clogged arteries can develop something called intermittent claudication, which restricts their walking capacity to only several 100 meters before they need to rest. They can do two things, either have surgery or go through a painful exercise program. The latter causes them a lot of pain.

We are going to develop a tool, expect a visually stunning walk along a forest in VR matched to the walking speed of the treadmill. Which maximizes their performance during treadmill exercise and minimizes their pain.
